The room was excellent, the pool and jacuzzi were nice too. The smell of cigarette smoke was a bit overwhelming throughout the entire hotel. The air conditioner just pumps in the foul smelling air, so the point of having a non-smoking room is rendered meaningless. To that point, why are there ashtrays in non-smoking rooms? The Link @ Sheraton service in the lobby is not yet ready, nor is the gift shop. As for location, The Westin is a much better location for the city sight. But the Sheraton is not too far from the train station, but about 45 mnutes to the airport (150 RMB). If I return to Xi'an, I seriously doubt I would stay there again. As for in-room dining, expect portions about 1/3-1/2 the size of what you would get n a US Sheraton

We were lucky enough to stay in the Xi'an Sheraton just a couple of weeks after is opened as part of our honeymoon trip to China (Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai were on our itinerary). The first thing I have to say is that I absolutely LOVE Xi'an. I hope we had stayed there longer than we did! It has a wonderful city appeal, without being too overwhelming, it was my favorite city of those we visited. Now, back to the hotel... The hotel is beautiful, brand new. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is wonderful and the food is delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Xian either for business or pleasure.

Any time you stay at a brand new hotel, your expectations are pretty high. This place has only been open for 2 months and everything is immaculate and modern. But the prices are (i.m.h.o.) fair enough for a 4 star hotel. What really put them over the top was their new "Western Style" Steak House Restaurant. They told us they are going through a "soft" opening and that they have not begun to advertise the restaurant. But they need to. We were the only people in there. We were treated to a Chef's Table extravaganza. Eight courses, seven, waitstaff, three chef's, the GM and his assistant and four extremely satisfied customers. This place was so great, that we ate there twice. Oh, the best part. That Chef's diner cost under $90 per person and that included lots of drinks. It was truly 5 Star dining.
